Philippa Hawley

People have asked what I might do with my time after retirement from a busy GP practice and I have told them, ‘I will write’. I should have replied, ‘what time?’ for time passes very quickly these days – a sign of getting older they say. Time spent writing disappears faster than any other as words and stories fill the blank pages, then follows fiddling, researching, re-writing, editing, drinking tea and writing some more. That’s how I spend much of my time these days and I have to haul myself back from the paper world to the real world, take some exercise, interact with the family and make dinner.
